Jeremiah 32:27 - Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?
If you can talk to the dead, it is only logical to assume that ghosts exist, the only question that remains is, where do they exist? The bible does give a very clear account of living people summoning and talking to the dead.
WARNING!! Talking to the dead is not something God approves of! This article/webpage is not written to promote such things, it is only intended to suggest that it is "real" and possible.
Now why would a kindly old Christian guy like myself make such a ridiculous claim that Mediums and Spiritists and talking to the dead are possible? Simply because I have read my bible. (Granted, probably like some of you, I don't read it nearly enough, but what I have read, I believe to be true) In the old testament, there is an account of Saul consulting a medium and summoning the deceased prophet Samuel from the dead (Apparently against his will), to consult with him.
1 Samuel 28:8 - Then Saul disguised himself by putting on other clothes, and went, he and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night; and he said, "Conjure up for me, please, and bring up for me whom I shall name to you."
1 Samuel 28:11 - Then the woman said, "Whom shall I bring up for you?" And he said, "Bring up Samuel for me."
1 Samuel 28:15 - Then Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" And Saul answered, "I am greatly distressed; for the Philistines are waging war against me, and God has departed from me and no longer answers me, either through prophets or by dreams; therefore I have called you, that you may make known to me what I should do."
Read all of it - 1 Samuel 28:6 through 19, it is very interesting reading!
UP?? I find it very curious that a prophet of God would be brought "Up" from the dead, instead of being brought "down" from heaven. What is also interesting here is the impression we get that the prophet Samuel didn't seem to have a choice. He was summoned, then he asked why he was being disturbed by being brought up! (He didn't come up, he was brought up) Before I go any further, as tempting as it might be to consult a medium or Spiritist to talk to your wife, husband, mom, dad, child or any other loved one who has passed on, it is not only dangerous, is is highly frowned upon by God.
1 Chronicles 10:13 - So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against the LORD, because of the word of the LORD which he did not keep; and also because he asked counsel of a medium, making inquiry of it,
1 Chronicles 10:14 - and did not inquire of the LORD. Therefore He killed him and turned the kingdom to David the son of Jesse.
God killed Saul for seeking the help of a medium instead of consulting him. Also, God is very clear on the subject of talking to the dead through mediums and spiritists.
Isaiah 8:19 - When they say to you, "Consult the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mutter," should not a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?
Isaiah 8:20 - To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because they have no dawn.
I will warn you. Before you consider talking to a loved one or anyone else who has passed away, aside from the fact that God commands us not to, You cannot be sure that it is really your loved one that you are talking to you!
ARE GHOSTS REAL?
IS THERE SUCH A THING AS GHOSTS?
CAN YOU TALK TO THE DEAD?
IS IT OKAY TO TALK TO THE DEAD?
WOULD YOU "REALLY" WANT TO??
Are ghosts real? Personally, whether I believe they exist or not is totally irrelevant. However, it appears that the 12 disciples believed that they existed. Why would I say that? I say that because of the reaction the disciples had when they first witnessed Jesus walking on the water.
Matthew 14:26 - When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, "It is a ghost!" And they cried out in fear.
Granted, This was taken from the NASB (New American Standard Bible), where the King James Version uses the word "Spirit", but given the context that it was used, it is safe to assume that they did not think it was an angel or even a demon, as the word translates closer to the words "Specter or phantasm".
I don't believe that all of the people who have claimed to have seen one are liars, since there have been way too many sightings to ignore. However, the scripture above really doesn't prove anything, because it only states that the disciples "thought" it was a ghost, and offers no proof that they had ever seen one either. What convinces me more than anything, is when it comes to "Talking To The Dead".
GHOSTS AND TALKING TO THE DEAD
~ DEMONS, EVIL SPIRITS AND DECEPTION ~
If you dabble in these kind of practices, It's like opening an attic door that leads to some dark dimension, then shining a bright flashlight around, drawing the attention of every evil or unholy thing there is to yourself. According to the scriptures above, it is possible to summon the dead, however, it is a roll of the dice for you, should you decide to do so. You could as easily summon an evil spirit or a demon, then swing the door wide open for them to enter into your life.
Suppose you asked a medium to summon grandpa, so you could ask him where he hid all that money! Then grandpa appears (through the medium) and says: "I hid it under the loose bricks on the fireplace mantle". So you go look and sure enough "There it is!" Does this prove that you actually spoke to grandpa? Not really. You see, evil spirits and demons have been around much longer than you and I, and even your grandpa, so they could have very possibly watched where grandpa hid the dough. Or for that matter, your great, great, great, great grandpa.
The price you could eventually pay is not worth the endeavor. (Trust Me) If you really need to know where grandpa hid the goods, you need to ask God! Read: Get a Miracle - http://powerofaith.com/miracle.htm Again, God said: "should not a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?"
When I was young (grade school or junior high), A friend of mine, my mother and myself sat down and played with an Ouija board. Starting out, just like everyone else who has played with an Ouija board, we were all wondering if one of the other people were making it move. When we started getting accurate answers to questions that none of us could possibly know, it started to get interesting, fun and fascinating.
EXAMPLE: At that time, my brother was a Marine in Viet Nam. He was going on leave and was going to meet his wife in Hawaii. The Ouija board accurately told us which island, his flight number, the exact day he would arrive, and the room number of the hotel he would be staying at. These were things we couldn't possibly have known, but turned out to be 100% accurate.
My friend and my mother and I spent several evenings playing with the Ouija board and had a ball doing it. However, the fun came to a halt when the Ouija board told us that my friends grandfather was going to die in two weeks. My friend (Dave) was very close to his grandfather and it put a damper on everything by receiving that particular message. The creepiest thing about it was, Dave's grandfather did indeed die two week later.
We quit playing with the Ouija board at that point and I never touched it again until years later, when I took it from my parents attic and destroyed it. The truth is, I believe we were very lucky. Most modern day cases of demon possession have started innocently through an Ouija board or something similar.
Make no mistake. Demons, evil spirits and unclean spirits are not allowed to enter into your life (especially demon possession), unless you invite them in. Talking to Mediums, Spiritists and Ouija boards are the quickest way I know to do so. It's a door you can open easily, but can not easily close. What starts out as fun and excitement, will eventually end up as depression and terror. I HIGHLY recommend against it.
~ MOST INTERESTING FACT ~
The thing I found most interesting in the story above was in 1 Samuel 28:19. The prophet Samuel told Saul that tomorrow, Saul and his son's would be with him.
1 Samuel 28:19 - "Moreover the LORD will also give over Israel along with you into the hands of the Philistines, therefore tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. Indeed the LORD will give over the army of Israel into the hands of the Philistines!"
Exactly where was the prophet Samuel, that Saul and his sons would be with him? That's a subject for another day!
